(no subject)

I was gonna start this last night but I got home at 10 and knocked out. I had done so much yesterday that I literally do not know how I managed to say alive.

for school, my oceanography class went on a field trip to mystic aquarium. all the deans and counselors went too to chaperone since it was like 90 kids going, and they brought my op the voice principal (who refused to let my drop AP art because "too many students drop the class", probably because he thinks I'm trying to manipulate colleges). This person who I'm forced to be friends with came since he's part of the oceanography class, luckily not my period specifically. He's annoying as shit and I try to avoid him as much as possible: he said he hates drinking water, and brought a "snapple" with him just in case. he smells just so bad, is greasy as hell, and has the perpetual 2010's Tumblr cringe aesthetic to him. literally hazbin hotel enjoyer, 'nuff said. good thing is that I did not sit with him at the bus at all, and had my other friend sit on the outside of the seat so I was as far from that fiend as I could. he kept talking in a baby voice at all the critters, then would follow with "I don't know why I'm using a baby voice" or "why am I using a baby voice?" like shut the FUCK UP. 

the only thing that kept me going was when my friend bought me a coffee... she loves coffee too so we both nursed so fine mystic aquarium coffee to rejuvenate ourselves. then when were looking at the beluga whales one of the guidance counselors came up to us to talk about what our favorite coffee's were and our coffee shops, and then greaseball started talking about the stuffies he got at the giftshop and said that one time at Disney world he got a stuffies for less than 10 dollars. my guidance counselor leaned down into my ear and whispered, "i'm calling bullshit on that." it's always hilarious hearing teachers swear but it's also cool being able to be treated like an adult. then after that we looked for some mollusca for an assignment and went back to the school. he kept badgering me to send him the picture of the octopus for his assignment and I straight up ignored him.

after that I went home and took a good hour nap before work. I didn't realize it until I got to work that my mom literally left to go to New Hampshire. so i'm home alone over the weekend per usual, and she left me like 15 bucks to get food. anyway, it was my first actual shift, but I was still getting trained, just not sitting at a computer for 4 hours straight. the woman who was my official/not so official trainer was really cool and sweet, and she did a really good job making me feel comfortable and showing me how to stock, work the phone, keep the store clean, and etc. my feet were killing me so bad when I got home, but it was fun meeting all my coworkers (there are so many it's actually insane). she got mad at me (not really) because I didn't bring a lunch, but she gave me a larabar and it was really good and I wanna buy them in bulk. she tried to show me where I'm working outside but it was so cold we turned back, and she said Im not allowed to go out there when it's dark because... well for example, during the night this guy came in and (trying not to judge) looked off his rocker. he was asking about job positions and me, my trainer, and the desk worker all looked at each other like "what the fuck is happening?" 

then she left and I was on my own, but it was 9 and I only had an hour left. I looked around, made sure end caps were full, retrieved any stray carts, put plants back where they should be, sweeped, then meandered over to the service desk where my coworkers chatted. I was surprised how easily I came up to them, but they were so nice that it felt fine, and one of them older women said "come to join us?" and one of the supervisors was talking about art history so the convo was right up my alley. then the last stragglers left and I went home. my feet and back still hurt but it's worth it.
